Red Sox 7, Royals 1

Same score, different result. Josh Beckett was solid and the bullpen was nearly perfect as Boston ended it's losing streak at Kauffman Stadium tonight 7-1. Beckett struck out five while allowing just 2 hits over five innings.

Kevin Youkilis hit a big two-run homerun and Mike Lowell had a two-run double as Boston collected it's first win of the season.

The lone blemish on the night for Boston was Mike Lowell's three errors which is half the total he committed in all of 2006.

Boston wraps up the series tomorrow afternoon by sending Daisuke Matsuzaka to the mound for his Major League debut.
