Red Sox rookie Jed Lowrie will become the fourth first rounder from the 2005 Red Sox draft class to make his major league debut when he is inserted into the lineup on Tuesday in Cleveland.
Lowrie, a sandwich pick in the first round joins Clay Buchholz, another sandwich and Jacoby Ellsbury and Craig Hansen as the 2005 first rounders to debut. Michael Bowden is the last first rounder from 2005 not to debut in the majors.
Lowrie will either play third base or shortstop tomorrow as Terry Francona will give Sean Casey the day off.
