Last night the Red Sox were engaged in a shootout in the Bronx and came up short 15-9.
Kevin Youkilis will be in the lineup tonight after fouling a ball off his leg in the late stages of the game. Amalie Benjamin from Boston.com said Youk let Terry Francona know that he would be a pain in the neck if he wasn't in the lineup.
Josh Beckett takes the mound for Boston against Mike Mussina. Maybe tonight will be the big breakout for David Ortiz.
One last thing, is anyone else beginning to think the end is near for Mike Timlin?
Craig Hansen maybe ready to finally step in, though the information I can locate makes it unclear if he has options remaining which could impact any decision to call him up until they are sure he's ready.
MLB rules state a play has options until his fourth season on the 40-man roster. Hansen was added to the 40-man in 2005, he was called up to Boston on September 19, 2005.
The call up happened during expanded rosters which means the time but he had to be on the 40-man to be up.
If he is indeed out of options Boston would have to keep him on the 25 man roster or designate him for assignment, it's unlikely he would clear waivers.
